This beautiful reproduction poster has been painstakingly re-mastered from an original 1966 advertising brochure for Ski Villa, a unique skiing facility that used "artificial snow" in the low foothills of Orange County, California.
The vibrant colors and detail of this classic image have been painstakingly brought back to life to preserve a great piece of history.
The high-resolution image is printed on heavy archival photo paper, on a large-format, professional giclée process printer. The poster is shipped in a rigid cardboard tube, and is ready for framing.
The 13"x19" format is an excellent image size that looks great as a stand-alone piece of art, or as a grouped visual statement. These posters require no cutting, trimming, or custom framing, and a wide variety of 13"x19" frames are readily available at your local craft or hobby retailer, and online.
A great vintage print for your home, shop, or business!
HISTORY OF SKI VILLA
The "ski slopes" were covered by 1.2 million white bristled plastic tiles, laid over a base of concrete. The artificial snow allowed the facility to advertise year-round skiing.
The glistening white slopes were located in Carbon Canyon, at an elevation of 640 feet. Ski Villa opened in 1966, and due to low interest and attendance, the facility was a financial failure, and it closed in 1967. The image came from the collection of the California Ski Library, in Norco, California.
