This beautiful reproduction poster has been re-mastered from an original 1955 advertisement for the Scott-Atwater 30-horsepower outboard motor.
The high-resolution image is printed on heavy archival photo paper, on a large-format, professional giclée process printer. The poster is shipped in a rigid cardboard tube, and is ready for framing.
The 13"x19" format is an excellent image size that looks great as a stand-alone piece of art, or grouped as a visual statement. These posters require no cutting, trimming, or custom framing, and a wide variety of 13"x19" frames are readily available at your local craft or hobby retailer, and online.

HISTORY OF SCOTT-ATWATER OUTBOARD MOTORS
In 1932, Cliff Scott and H. Bruce Atwater started a small tool making company in Minneapolis. Their shop gained a reputation for quality production, and in 1935 Earl DuMonte enlisted them to build a small outboard motor. When the new motor was shown at a New York exhibit, several hundred were ordered, and DuMonte had the Scott-Atwater shop produce them under the Champion outboard motor label.
With sales improving dramatically, Scott and Atwater turn their full attention to producing outboard motors. By 1941, the company was the second largest outboard motor producer, and in 1942, Scott and Atwater parted company with DuMonte.
The Scott-Atwater company continued to expand with numerous horsepower-sizes and styles of outboard motors. The motors became well-known for their stylish and colorful designs.
In early days of outboard motor production, most small boats were wooden, and they leaked water. Scott-Atwater developed an innovative automatic water bailing system called Bail-a-matic that relieved the boater of having to bail water by hand.
Scott and Atwater sold their operation to the McCulloch company in 1956. By 1964, the Scott-Atwater name disappeared from the motor line, and by 1966, McCulloch began looking for a buyer for their outboard motor division. Failing to find a buyer, McCulloch discontinued their outboard motor production in 1967.
